The Society of Typographic Aficionados is excited to announce that TypeCon is returning to Portland, Oregon for the 20th anniversary edition of the conference — August 1st to 5th, 2018.Since our rather humble beginnings in Westborough, Massachusetts back in 1998, TypeCon has hit its stride, growing into one of the most accessible and affordable conferences focused on the typographic and design communities.In recognition of the past, present, and future of type (and our own history), this year’s program will be featuring not one, not two, but three keynote presentations.

Our conference headquarters will be the conveniently located and recently redesigned Hilton Portland Downtown. Once again, we will be offering significantly discounted room rates for TypeCon attendees. Conference registration and hotel booking details will be available early in the new year.

The success of TypeCon relies on you and your involvement. Over the next few months, we will be actively seeking volunteers, speakers, workshop leaders, as well as ideas for design-related events, tours, and exhibitions to complete the TypeCon experience.
