Font Aid V: Release Imminent

Font Aid V

You might be wondering to yourself … “What the heck happened with Font Aid V and the Made For Japan typeface they were working on?”

Well, suffice it to say, we completely underestimated the amount of time and effort required to see this project through to the final result. We honestly believed that we could finish and release the Made For Japan typeface back in June. That obviously didn’t happen. The sheer number of submissions — coupled with the complexity of some of the designs — caused unforeseen (and brain-wracking) delays while working on the typeface.

Our team of volunteers spent dozens of hours, meticulously assembling and testing the typeface. Not only did they manage the immense number of submissions from designers around the globe, they also mitigated several technical hurdles and multiple content reviews before the final font could be produced.

However, we are pleased to announce that the Made For Japan typeface is finally ready! The font will be available through MyFonts, Fonts.com, and Linotype, and Veer.

As soon as we have more precise release dates, we’ll let you know.

Thanks for your ongoing patience and participation.
