Today’s Special: An Exhibition of Works by John Downer

Today’s Special: John DownerHanson Dodge Creative (HDC) and the American Institute of Graphic Arts are pleased to present “Today’s Special: John Downer” — an exhibition of grocery special banners, hand-lettered by John Downer. These unique paper signs were originally created for Jack’s Country Store in Ocean Park, Washington.Each sign measures 2 feet by 3 feet and will be available for purchase for $200 apiece - all proceeds going directly to the Society of Typographic Aficionados.The exhibition will also showcase a series of smaller, hand-lettered signs commissioned by HDC. The signs express off-beat and fun slogans for active lifestyle enthusiasts such as “Get Lost. Enjoy the Outdoors”. Please join us for the opening reception on Tuesday, July 31st - in conjunction with the start of TypeCon2012 in Milwaukee. The reception will take place in the Hanson Dodge Creative offices from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. The exhibition runs from July 10th through August 10th.This event is open to the public.
